Not legal advice

Rightful provides legal information and analysis tools. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. The information generated by our service should not be considered a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney. Use of Rightful does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Service description

Rightful analyzes security deposit deductions under California, New York, and Texas law (Cal. Civ. Code §1950.5, N.Y. GOL §7-108, Tex. Prop. Code §92.103), identifies challengeable charges, and generates a demand email your landlord is likely to respond to. Results are based on information you provide and general legal principles. Outcomes are not guaranteed.

Payments

Free analysis is provided at no cost. Paid features (strategy reports, demand emails) are one-time purchases processed through Stripe. All sales are final. If you are unsatisfied, contact support@rightful.law within 7 days.

Limitation of liability

Rightful is provided “as is.” We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including the outcome of any dispute with your landlord. Maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.

Supported jurisdictions

This service currently covers security deposit law in California, New York, and Texas. Using it for disputes governed by other states' laws may produce inaccurate results.
